I recently read "The Way of a Pilgrim", as an assignment for my Psychology class. I decided to visit a Monastery to try to get a small idea of his travels. I spent the weekend in this Monastery as a pilgrim in dialogs with monks and the WORD.

I personally identify with the travels of this Pilgrim. My entire life story is that of a Pilgrim in search of truth; making connections from one experience to another.

You write above, "When Joseph saw his brothers again, he forgave them (Genesis 45), despite how they had wronged him (and even though he now had the power to destroy them if he so chose)."

This is a gross oversimplification of what actually happened. When he saw his brothers he actually falsly accussed them, thew them in jail, spoke harshly to them, and threatened them so much so that they were not willing to go back to him, but rather starve to death and also leave one of their brothers to die in prison. Later Joseph plants evidence on them. If I did all these things to you would you say that "I forgave you". Read the Bible Text. Forgiveness wasn't given until Joseph saw a change - repentance - on their part. Your statement above is a gross oversimplfication of what happened that is often misunderstood in the Bible and puts false guilt on people because we don't so "easily forgive as Joseph did". There is alot more to the text and its a beautiful story of forgiveness but it needs to be properly understood.

hello i agree with what youi are saying and would like to add first and foremost we can do nothing without christ and looking always at what hes already done is a place for us to rest the enemy is a driver but christ is a leader your right we can be prepared which actually decreases worry we also need to have that reknewed mind from allowing the word to sanctify it because anxiety also comes from a wrong perspective which if we had a godly one we wouldn't overlook things to hide from whatever we assume nor would we jump to conclusions but simply live the abundant life jesus christ gave us get i didn't say is giving i said GAVE i tend to remind myself of his words on the cross it is finished and to me it means i dont have to do nothing but cooperate with what ALREADY is!!!!! to god be the glory

I met pilgrim George on 05/08/08 in mercer pa. First I saw him walking down the street . He looked out of place a bit with his robe and staff. I noticed the picture of Christ on his staff and felt reassured. I drove past him and was going to the drug store to get a prescription filled. When I was leaving the store George was about to enter the store. I asked him who are you? He said I am Pilgrim George and I am walking for Christ. He then told what he was doing and why. He asked if I believe in Christ I said I do and he said then we are brothers in Christ. Then he pointed up looked me in the eye and said I will see you in heaven and walked into the store. I decided to go have breakfast because my prescription would not be ready for about twenty minutes. While I ate breakfast all I could think of was this unique man I just met. When I went back to the store Pilgrim George`s packs and staff were still sitting on the sidewalk at the store I thought cool he`s still here. I went into the store and George was at the pick up window getting his prescription .I got in line right behind him when he turned around we got re acquainted . I quickly got my prescription and followed him out the store. Outside we spoke again I directed him to rt. 58 north . Then I asked him if he carried water, he said he needed to get some because he was low. I though where could we get some water and the Munel run farm came to mind. The Munel run farm is owned by the Mercer county conservation district. It is a working farm which is run by volunteers they teach conservation and crafts and it is a really special place . The farm is on RT.85. but is not visible from the road. It sits behind the county owned nursing home in fact to get to the farm you must drive under a enclosed walk way that connects two buildings of the home. We drove to one of the buildings on the farm where I noticed a few cars parked .George and I entered the building there was a group of women there having a spinning class spinning yarn on spinning wheels. When we entered the building all heads turned and eyes were on george I introduced my self and George and asked if he could have some water. They gave George some water and we left. Then I took George to a farm close by where a women kept some fallow deer and peacocks .I then took George a few miles north on rt.58 pulled into the locous grove parking lot to drop him off . George unloaded his gear and began to head north at the same time to women pulled into the parking lot , They were looking for a place on rt.58. and were not sure how close they were . As it turned out they were looking for that spinning class at the munel run farm so I had them follow me to the farm because the may had never found it because of its seclusion. This was a unique experience and I feel blessed to have had it . I am happy to share it with who ever comes across it.

The show is up at the following location:

http://www.BlogTalkRadio.com/Write-The-Vision/2008/01/15/Write-The-Vision-Victorious-Visionaries

I am the second guest (after the second break), summarizing the topic of my book Simply Balanced.

The woman before me is an award-winning songwriter, and her song "World Wide God" was inspirational!

Every week, this radio program, Write the Vision (which is based in Michigan), is featuring authors, poets, etc. They also have a sister girl forum during every show, where a guest discusses topics on the hearts and minds of Godly women.

Thank you to Minister Celeste, the host of Write the Vision, for welcoming me to her show! And thank God for the blessing of being able to tell about the message He has given me to help others balance their lives HIS way based on HIS Word.
